Our main purpose for visiting, as it would be for many people, was parliament house. Both the old one and the new one. After visiting the stately Old Parliament House, we went to check out the New Parliament House. Along the way we saw chance to visit the National Archives which had some impressive images on display.

My holiday has now begun. I will be travelling through the country with my mother and her partner for a few weeks.

We have decided to limit the amount of driving that we will do. Australia is a vast country after all. We had planned to see quite a bit of the outback, possibly desert country, but that gets to be a tricky affair quickly without a decent 4WD.

Starting out from the Blue Mountains & Sydney, our first stop will be Canberra.
