Eyeballism v1 — Beta No More

My photography site, eyeballism.com, has been redesigned and it is now out of Beta. Sporting a new lightweight gallery script it performs much better on all web standards compliant browsers. I’m still working on hooking it up to a database — that way I can create an RSS feed for it. But that is unlikely to happen before my upcoming holiday.

Max Roach

This week we had to say goodbye to another legendary musician. Max Roach passed away at age 83.

He performed in bands led by Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and collaborated with many more.

Earth From Above

Last week I saw a chance to visit the Earth From Above exhibition in Darling Harbour. This great presentation of some of the most fabulous aerial photography is certainly worth checking out. The travelling exhibition will remain in Darling Harbour (Sydney) until December the 23rd 2007.

Piracy Ads: Give Us A Break

OK — I admit it. I’m hypersensitive when it comes to ads. I tend to overreact. Even more so when I’ve seen a particular ad far too many times. Add to this a lack of humour, purpose, and understanding for intended audience and you have me shaking like a benzedrine addict gone cold turkey.

Lightroom: Copy & Paste Develop Settings

Often I take series of photos in difficult light. Because of this, I manually copy & paste a lot of development settings across images in the same series. Mostly I use the sync button after selecting a few images in the filmstrip, but sometimes I prefer to use the context menu. Lightroom however, has placed the develop settings options in different positions in the context menus of the develop module and the library module. This seems counter intuitive, and I for one, simply cannot get used to it.
